The Department of Management at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for a 2.5-year postdoctoral position planned as part-time, offering applicants an exciting opportunity to join a new research project on Agrivoltaics (on-field solar energy systems).

The position is linked to the MAPP Centre, which conducts research on value creation in the food sector. The MAPP Centre is a world-class research centre working with questions on consumer behaviour in relation to food and beverages as well as the implications of insight into consumer behaviour for both industry and public policy (for more information see www.mapp.au.dk).

The starting date is 1.7.2021 or subject to mutual agreement. The part-time position is foreseen as 2/3 (25 hours).

The research project
The position is part of the EU Horizon 2020 Innovation Action project “HYPERFARM – Hydrogen and photovoltaic electrification on farm” in collaboration with 14 partners, in particular in Germany and Belgium.
The project aims to reduce reliance on fossil fuel by furthering renewable energy, in this case solar power, by decarbonizing agricultural farms. Instead of covering agricultural land with solar panels and thus reducing land for food production in times of global food insecurity, the project explores the combination of both.
The department of Management will study the business case and public acceptability. The project contributes to the general management and marketing and consumer behaviour field as well as to the study of farmer, citizen, and consumer acceptance of a sustainable technological innovation in particular.

Job description
The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the overall objectives of the project by being involved in data collection, data analysis, writing articles, the ongoing development of the project and collaboration between the different partners, and dissemination to the research community and the public.

The position in the project is research-oriented. On individual agreement between the candidate and the department, the employment may involve additional teaching assignments.

Qualifications
Candidates must hold a PhD relevant to the academic areas of the Department of Management and the MAPP Center, preferably within consumer behaviour, marketing, and sustainability transition.

Applicants need to have working knowledge to handle data, both qualitative and quantitative, including use of statistical, quantitative analysis techniques. Applicants are expected to have experience with at least one of the major statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS) as well as programs supporting qualitative data analysis. Knowledge about social media research is a plus, as is experience with industry. Good verbal and written communication skills will also be valued as well as experience in collaborating in large and diverse teams. Very good command of at least two of the languages Danish, German, and Dutch is needed for the qualitative data collection of in-depth interviews.
