Description of the Job
The successful candidate will coordinate the training and events’ activities of ECAS’ in its EU RIGHTS and EUROPEAN DEMOCRACY focus areas.
The events will target diverse audiences, such as civil society organisations, public authorities, decision-makers, experts, citizens etc. The training activities will take place both online and in the form of offline events.
ECAS’ Training and Events Manager should have a keen interest in understanding European citizenship issues, should operate effectively at their own initiative while being a team player and should be able to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of ECAS and working in close collaboration with ECAS’ team members, the Candidate will:
- Support the implementation of ECAS’ training and events’ agenda.
- Coordinate ECAS’ training and awareness raising events.
- Consolidate and digitalise ECAS’ training experience and expertise.
- Design new training modules.
- Recruit training and events’ participants.
- Develop and manage ECAS’ online courses.
- Promote ECAS’ Training Center.
Knowledge and Experience
- University or Master’s Degree in Law, International Relations, Political Science, European Studies or any other relevant field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in events’ organisation.
- Excellent knowledge of the EU decision-making process.
- Excellent knowledge of European citizenship, EU Rights and European Democracy – related issues.

Contract

Description of the Job
Democracy is under pressure. Across Europe, we are confronting increasing threats undermining the foundations and institutions of our democratic societies. The rise of challenges such as extremism, xenophobia, divisive nationalism, discrimination, and the spreading of disinformation, are complex and interlinked. Citizens need more and better-suited democratic tools and knowledge to understand and adapt accordingly to these new phenomena.
In order to address these issues, ECAS will implement the initiative Accelerate CSO Impact for Disinformation – Free Citizen Democratic Participation by carrying out activities aimed at strengthening the skills of its members and strategic partners in CEE to promote European values. ECAS will foster the formation of local cross-sector alliances of relevant citizen organisations (e.g., active in promoting EU values, the rule of law, fundamental rights and democracy, countering disinformation and media literacy), and interested partners in the media, public authorities, academia, communications, and IT businesses.
These entities will learn from each other and work together to implement targeted narrative change campaigns. ECAS will first organise accelerated capacity building for civil society organisations (CSOs) to increase their social impact skills using the advanced tools and expertise of communications and IT partners and will then support cross-sector teams including CSOs, media, technology, and communications experts in carrying out focused campaigns on issues such as citizen engagement in on-going policy decisions (e.g., local referenda, public discussions of legislation etc.).
ECAS’ Project Coordinator for CEE will lead and manage ECAS’ initiative Accelerate CSO Impact for Disinformation – Free Citizen Democratic Participation.

- Fostering the formation of local cross-sector alliances involving relevant citizen organisations and interested partners in the media, public authorities, academia, communications and IT businesses in Hungary, Bulgaria and Slovenia (in Year 1) and in Poland and Czechia (in Year 2).
- Building their capacities and supporting the piloting of their campaigns in the first year of implementation in Hungary, Bulgaria and Slovenia and in Poland and Czechia in the second year.
- Evaluating the gained experience to develop a methodology and engage with partners allowing the activities to be carried out efficiently across the EU.
- Promoting the initiative’s activities and results.
Knowledge and Experience

- At least 3 years of professional experience in project management of international projects.
