DIGITALEUROPE’s Digital Sustainability Policy Group covers four big sustainability policy areas that are internally divided into four Working Groups: chemicals, eco-design, waste and responsible business conduct. Working Groups focus on technical ICT product compliance topics in the field of sustainability (EU regulatory product policy framework). To support colleagues working in these areas, we are looking for a full-time Policy Manager (permanent contract).
As the leading trade association in the field of digital technologies and digitalising industries, we are looking for a motivated, pro-active candidate who is full of ideas that can help drive the organisation forward. You will join a dynamic, diverse, fun, and respectful international work environment with opportunities to further grow and develop.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the daily work of the Working Groups.
- Drive consensus in the group and support in the development of position papers and other materials, including research and analysis.
- Monitor EU and national policy developments of relevance.
- Prepare and implement outreach and communication activities, build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
Required competencies and skills
- Three to five years’ work experience in a policy, advocacy or government role, preferably in environmental policy
- Having an interest in technical product compliance and governance
- Knowledge of the EU decision-making processes and key stakeholders
- Fluent in English both written and spoken – other languages are an asset
- Strong integrity and organisational skills
- Being able to set clear priorities and drive towards concrete results, based on consensus among a diverse membership
- Ability to synthesise policy documents, identifying relevant key points, facts and statistics to help explain complex policy topics to broad audiences in a concise way.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and culturally diverse environment, with competing priorities and workloads.
- Familiarity with ICT/digital sector is an asset.

We are looking for a Policy Manager for our Digital Technology & Innovation Policy Group. The prospective candidate will be primarily responsible for managing the Product Compliance & Market Access working group, developing the association’s advocacy on the EU technical and regulatory affairs related to the New Legislative Framework such as Radio Equipment, Machinery and Product Safety. This will include the relationship with Standardisation policy, Artificial Intelligence and Liability, as well as the interplay with Sustainability and Ecodesign legislation.
