Main Duties and Responsibilities
The PRACE Communications Officer will support the PRACE Head of Communications in all activities concerning PRACE’s communication, dissemination, events, and outreach for both PRACE aisbl and the EU-funded projects we co-ordinate and/or participate in. Some travel may be required, in Europe and beyond.
COMMUNICATION, DISSEMINATION, OUTREACH
- Creating content for the PRACE website, for PRACE social media channels, and for various PRACE publications, including internal reports
- Contribute to projects or project work packages in the field of communication, dissemination, outreach, and events
- Managing the archiving and record keeping of communication, event, and outreach materials
- Contribute to produce the corresponding deliverables, including, but not limited to, social media statistics
- Prepare good quality communication material
- Support outreach activities, including, but not limited to, the creation of videos and fact sheets
EVENTS
- Support the presence and visibility of PRACE at international HPC-related events, conferences, and meetings (e.g.: SC, ISC)
- Preparing, implementing, and evaluated events and conferences organised by PRACE (e.g.: PRACEdays, EHPCSW) as conference/event staff
- Ensuring that an adequate follow-up and evaluation is carried out for each event
Skills and Education Required
- Bachelor degree in international communications, public relations, marketing and/or community building, or proven experience of more than 5 years in a similar position
- Proficient or (near) native level of English as well as outstanding editorial skills are required. Experience with scientific and journalistic writing is desirable
- Working knowledge of languages such as German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and/or others is a plus
- Experience in event management and outreach will be considered an advantage. Social media/community building experience is considered an advantage
- Proficiency in desktop software, mainly MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel. Experience in web content management systems and graphic design software is an asset. Knowledge of HTML and/or other coding languages is a plus
- Proven organisational and time-management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work on multiple varying tasks with little supervision, are required
