The Role

Join CSW as Head of People and Culture and be part of a global movement campaigning for justice and freedom.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Professional. You will lead on team recruitment, retention, welfare and development across the organisation, ensuring that CSW create an inclusive culture where each person is valued as an important contributor to the vision of the organisation. You will champion and facilitate professional development amongst the staff team and implement efficient and effective HR practice and administration across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack):

 

  • To manage the recruitment and selection process for all posts according to best practice ensuring CSW’s staff team is of the highest calibre.
  • Work alongside line managers to ensure each member of the team has an individual development plan and to monitor and help facilitate the professional development of the team in line with those plans.
  • To curate a healthy and inclusive culture across the organisation.
  • To carry out regular staff engagement exercises (surveys, interviews, discussions etc), to report on the findings and to propose action plans to the SLT.
  • To ensure CSW’s organisational policies are reviewed, implemented and communicated.

 

The Person

A committed Christian with a passion for justice and people, you will have a proven track record in a leadership role, preferably within the charity sector.  You will have an excellent understanding of best practice in Human Resource management and a commitment to professional development.

Essential Criteria (full criteria listed in the application pack):

 

  • 2 years + experience in human resources
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably within the charity sector
  • Excellent understanding of best practice in human resource management
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, develop and lead others

Europe Liaison Officer

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to be on the front line of human rights research and advocacy, joining a specialist organisation with a long track record in promoting the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB).

You will be based at our office in Brussels, Belgium and will facilitate CSW’s advocacy work in Europe keeping in close contact with CSW’s London office.  Together with the Press and Public Affairs Team Leader you will develop and implement a strategy for Europe.

Key responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack): 

 

  • Develop and implement CSW’s advocacy strategy in Europe in conjunction with the Team Leader;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Brussels-based politicians, civil servants, relevant organisations and other stakeholders;
  • Promote and disseminate CSW’s research, briefings, casework, press releases and publications to relevant EU and other European advocacy contacts, and coordinate CSW’s responses to consultations and external reports, where appropriate;
  • Monitor FoRB-related activity in European institutions, advise on relevant EU and other European policy and identify advocacy opportunities;
  • Draft submissions, briefings, Parliamentary Questions and resolutions, where appropriate.

 

The Person

With a good degree and a strong commitment to human rights and justice, you will have excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to take the initiative, and will work well under pressure. 

Essential criteria (full criteria listed in the application pack): 

 

  • Accept and respect the Christian belief and ethos of CSW’s ministry.
  • Providing short presentations and oral recommendations.
  • Experience in engaging with European institutions.
  • Understanding of European institutions, and how they work together and are integrated
  • EU Citizen or in possession of a valid work & residence permit to work in Belgium.
