The Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia led by the huge interest and success of the First School of Defense, Security and NATO Integration, and encouraged by the general interest in the organization of youth projects and activities in the country, is organizing the:
2nd NATO ACADEMY 2020
The main goal of the NATO Academy 2020 is to make a significant contribution to the integration process and to strengthen the reforms and the legal framework in the field of security and defense in the long run through educational tools, as well as creating a platform for debate and discussion.
The Academy will be of educational and informative character which will largely incorporate a practical component and will enable students to become acquainted with NATO, security and beyond with international politics. This15 week Academy will cover matters of security, defense and NATO integration issues, the role and functioning of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, participation in international missions, gender aspects of defense and topics related to contemporary security threats such as cyber and hybrid threats.
What will you acquire?
Participants will gain high theoretical and practical knowledge in multiple areas such as NATO issues, security, defense and diplomacy; they will have the opportunity to listen to lectures on the above-mentioned subjects and to participate in debates and discussions. If possible, in line with the COVID-19 restrictions, participants will also be part of several study visits where they will gather information, talk one-on-one with members of the Army and MoD high officials and become acquainted with the basic Army tasks and responsibilities. The successful completion of the Academy will be awarded with a Certificate and most active participants will have a chance directly to participate in the next ATA Macedonia event, the traditional 8th NATO Student Simulation that will be held until the end of 2020.
Criteria
Participants need to be high school, undergraduate or master students (18 – 30yo), citizens of Republic of North Macedonia, with an interest in security issues, international relations and NATO.
Most of the Academy will be held online, but also it will be interactive and is going to be held in different locations in order to offer visual and practical activities, beside the theory.*
Materials for the preparation of applicants, guidance and communication strategy will be given by representatives of the Euro-Atlantic Council of Macedonia in a timely manner.

Interested candidates need to apply online at info@atamacedonia.org.mk latest by 26 October 2020 (Monday) until 15:00h, email subject “Application for NATO ACADEMY 2020”. In addition, they need to submit a CV and a Short Letter of motivation for participation (up to 300 words).
Due to limited capacities of the Academy we are accepting applications on rolling basis (first come, first enlisted), so please be advised to apply as soon as possible. The Academy will officially start in the beginning of November.
The most active participants will have the opportunity to receive direct acceptance to the 8th NATO Student Simulation.
