ADELAIDE SUMMER RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS/ #Australia

The Adelaide Summer Research Scholarships have been created to encourage undergraduate students to consider undertaking postgraduate study at the University of Adelaide leading to a career involving research. The scholars will work with a research team to stimulate their enthusiasm for advanced study.

Up to 60 Summer Research Scholarships are available to continuing undergraduate students who wish to undertake a six week research project at the University of Adelaide over the 2021-22 summer vacation.

Students who have completed at least two years (48 units) of their program, at a standard acceptable level for admission to an Honours program, will be considered in the first instance. Students must contact their Faculty/School to ensure that an appropriate research project is available.

In exceptional circumstances students who have completed less than two years of study may be considered.

Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, New Zealand Citizens, holders of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa and international students who hold current appropriate visas permitting study in Australia beyond February 2022 are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

Students who are in receipt of, or expect to receive any other summer or vacation scholarships over the 2021-22 summer vacation (e.g. National Heart Foundation Summer Scholarship, Cancer Council Vacation scholarships) are not eligible for the Adelaide Summer Research Scholarship unless the other scholarship is for a separate research project.

Each Scholarship provides a living allowance of at least $200 per week for six weeks.

The Scholarship must be taken up in the year in which it is offered; acceptance of the Scholarship offer cannot be deferred. If a student declines the Scholarship offer, the Scholarship will be offered to the next eligible student.

Students can only submit ONE application online. If a student wishes to apply for more than one research project, a separate Research Project and Supervisor Form for each project must be attached (multiple forms can be attached). All attached forms must be completed and signed as required.

If a student has submitted an application online and wishes to apply for an additional research project, please contact the Coursework Scholarships Office via email courseworkscholarships@adelaide.edu.au

Students who are not studying at the University of Adelaide can apply for the Adelaide Summer Research Scholarship but must contact the Coursework Scholarships Office via email courseworkscholarships@adelaide.edu.au

Faculties will advise students the outcome of their application/s by mid-late November 2021.

Please note only completed applications will be considered. Please ensure the supervisor has signed the Research Project and Supervisor form before attaching to your application. The signature MUST be digital, electronic or scanned. Typed names/signatures will NOT be accepted.
