In the line of President Juncker’s vision for Europe, the DG Empl is promoting social dialogue and in its different dimensions of information exchange, consultation, negotiation and joint action. Its aim is to shape and implement measures developed in several European papers among others The White Paper on the future of Europe and more specifically the reflection papers on social dimension and the economic and monetary union released in March 2017 when was celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Rome Treaty; the European Pillar of Social Rights released in November 2017 and President Juncker’s Agenda for Jobs, Growth, Fairness and Democratic change.

These measures promote social inclusion, economic convergence for a better resilience and regional policies depending on local circumstances.

“European social dialogue refers to discussions, consultations, negotiations and joint actions involving organisations representing the two sides of industry (employers and workers).”

Objectives and field of application:

The budget will finance consultations, meetings, negotiations and any form of social dialogue defined in the European Commission following papers:

It can address multiples areas like:

– The employment, social and economic challenges as identified in the European Pillar of Social Rights

– the adaptation of social dialogue to changes in employment and work-related challenges, such as:

  • Modernisation of the labour market, job creation and job matching;
  • Quality of work, anticipation, preparation and management of change and restructuring
  • Digitalisation of the economy and society – including artificial intelligence-, the greening of the economy, flexicurity and skills
  • (intra-EU) labour mobility, migration, youth employment, health and safety at work, modernisation of social protection systems

The global budget for this call is estimated at EUR 9 815 250 and the amount that can be requested for each proposals should be between EUR 150 000 and EUR 650 000.

The deadline for submission is the 25th of September 2018.
