Description

An info sheet to accompany the call for applications to the Eastern Partnership School for the 2019-20 academic year, answering a set of frequently asked questions about the school and its programme. The deadline for applications is 1 March, 2019. The Eastern Partnership School is based in Tbilisi, and offers a quality education to pupils from partner countries, with scholarships to students from the six partner countries for an IB Diploma Programme with a focus on European Studies. 
The Programme offers the comprehensive and rigorous two-year academic course of the IB Diploma combined with the unique opportunity to engage in the specialised study of Europe and European issues. Through the guidance and support of the European Schools General Secretariat courses in human sciences, languages and literatures, arts and history, have been aligned to the European Baccalaureate (EB) studies and complemented by a distinct European perspective. In their studies, essays and learning activities, pupils have the chance to also reflect on European topics and themes

Eligibility

Students from  Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are eligible to apply.

Benefits

Students will be leaving in the boarding facility located on the premises of New School. The new boarding facility will provide comfort to students and school personnel. The common space areas in the facility for studying and social gathering give good opportunity for sharing knowledge to fellow students. A Head of Boarding and a team of mentors will be supervising the students at all times, ensuring their comfort, safety and general welfare. 
In the boarding facility, two students will share a room, fully equipped with necessary devices and appliances to ensure study atmosphere. The food served in the New School is prepared under the highest quality standards, being healthy and fresh at all times, with separate options for the students with food restrictions.
Students are allowed to travel to their home country four times per year (during winter, autumn, summer and spring holidays). The transportation expenses are included in the scholarship.
Learning materials are provided by the New School, while specific equipment required for IB Diploma (e.g. TI calculators) is included in the scholarship.
Students will have a medical insurance which covers fully most of the basic medical expenses, including the dental interventions. The list of medical treatments is renewed every year.
Most of the basic leaving expenses are included in the scholarship, so students may need to buy their clothes and pay for additional activities not covered by the scholarship.
Use of the public transportation including busses and subway within Tbilisi is free for the scholarship students. 

Application

During the application process, students need to submit Parent Consent form, Birth Certificate and Grades from the previous school year(s) in English, or have it translated to English and notarized if the original documents are not in English. The students awarded the scholarship are required to have their passports, birth certificates and grade sheets.
