The Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity has issued a call for projects intended for associations and foundations working in the field of emergency housing, with proposals accepted up to midday on 9 July 2020. They are invited to submit proposals for emergency housing projects intended for women in vulnerable situations, with social accompaniment fostering renewed independence. A total of CHF 200,000 will be allocated to the projected adopted for a pilot phase.

The covid-19 epidemic has pushed a great many people into dire straits. The health crisis is now behind us, but a major social crisis continues to affect the members of the population living in the most precarious situations. Women living in such difficult situations, often because they have lost their job, are particularly affected by poor housing.

Emergency housing pilot project

The associations and foundations active in the field of emergency housing are invited to propose a pilot project dealing with housing for women. Within the framework of this call for projects, an exceptional budget of CHF 200,000 will be made available to the organisation selected, which will develop a project allowing ten women to be housed and accompanied in gaining greater independence over a period of six month.

The objectives of this emergency shelter are as follows:

to provide shelter at night;

to improve physical and psychological well-being;

to detect physical, psychological and social problems;

to provide guidance with regard to medical and social services;

to provide accompaniment towards greater independence and the possibility of leaving the emergency shelter.
